Q + A

What is the dress code?

Think "Cocktail Attire" - Here are some suggestions to ensure you feel stylish, comfortable, and ready to party with us. Traditional Indian fashion is welcomed but not required. ~~~ Feminine styles: You could embrace breezy patterns in a maxi dress, or opt for a formal jumpsuit. Make a statement with bold colors in a midi dress. Pair with dressy sandals or wedges and then accessorize! ~~~ Masculine styles: Pair a solid or patterned button-up shirt with a light blazer/sport coat or switch it up with a suit in a bold solid color or subtle pattern. Finish the look with classic boat shoes or loafers.

Do you have hotel blocks?

Yes! We have room blocks at both Embassy Suites by Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott in Valencia. Check out the Travel tab for more information and links to booking. Should you choose to stay at one of these hotels, we will have a shuttle on standby to bring you back after the festivities.

Are my children invited?

Please refer to your invitation as only those specifically named are invited. With the exception of a handful of close family members who are older, we’re having an adults-only wedding. This is partly due to safety concerns with the location and space, but more so we'd like all of our guests to enjoy a night of fun and uninhibited revelry.

What should we know about the venue?

The venue is a large gated estate with fields, orchards, and trails amidst a small, rual town. Please note there is also an unguarded swimming pool that is *not* available for use during the event on the premises. The ceremony will be held in the grassy backyard.

Will you be having an "unplugged" ceremony?

Yes! We'll allow a few minutes after the ceremony ends for everyone to snap a few photos before you head to the cocktail hour, but we would like our guests to put down their phones and be present with us during! It's also what the professional photographers are there for! Let them do their job. :-)

What is the parking situation?

There is plenty of parking available on the estate grounds after the security gate. It's only a short walk up to the house from there. If you choose to use a ride share service, security will allow them to drop you off near the house and use the round about to exit.

What is Mehndi? What do I wear?

Mehndi, also known as henna, is a traditional form of body art originating from India. The Mehndi ceremony is a pre-wedding celebration where the bride and her bridesmaids get henna designs applied to their hands and feet. The intricate Mehndi patterns symbolize the bond between the bride and groom, as well as their families. The darkness of the Mehndi stain on the bride's hands and feet is believed to represent the love and understanding between the couple. The longer the stain lasts, the stronger their bond is thought to be. Mehndi is considered a symbol of good luck, prosperity, and happiness for the couple's married life ahead. Mehndi night will be filled with music, food, and time for families to meet and bond before the wedding ceremony. Dress code: colorful "smart casual". Traditional Indian dress is welcome but not required.
